Home Renovation

Kitchen Redo Part Two

Well, after basically living the last 4-5 years under construction/renovation. We have finished. No more projects for this house. It is officially on the market; the Marshall’s are picking up and moving to Oklahoma! We are so excited for this move and for new opportunities.

But for now, let’s get to the good stuff; the kitchen!

Seeing how great this looks, the only thing I would change would be that we would have done this the FIRST time we renovated the kitchen. [long story].

There won’t be any home Reno project updates for awhile [sad day] but when we buy a new house when we move; it’s game on!

Until the last box is packed,

For 5 years now I wanted an open kitchen in our house. We have updated our kitchen now for the third time and guess what?! We are going to have an open kitchen!

Beadboard ceiling is going up and I could not be more excited!

We knocked some walls down, moved cabinets and plumbing, installed new flooring, and so much more!

Until next time,

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year…. Still

Officially on Christmas Break from work; off work until 2017. I have so many projects, ideas and plans for Tommy and I over the next two weeks.

This past weekend we had our 2nd Annual Christmas Party & Scavenger Hunt with friends and it sure was memorable. [This picture says it all.. Thanks Chan for being the brave one!]

I have spent the last several weeks making & selling shirts for friends & family for Christmas presents and whatnot. Talk about SUPER BUSY! But so fun and worth it! These will be available for purchase from my Etsy shop shortly.

Here’s just a FEW of what I have done. 🙂

Rhett visited the North Pole of Texas recently and enjoyed every minute of it! He was able to ride the train around the property and see all of the Christmas lights, have a picture made with Mrs. Claus and see Santa along the way. He has not stopped talking about it since he got home.

I hope over the next couple of weeks, Tommy and I are able to work on our guest bathroom. It has been “out of order” for about 6 months. We had plans back in the summer to work on it and just never got around to it. It is so fun to plan and purchase items to renovate. And the satisfaction after completion is indescribable. Hopefully that feeling comes soon. Until then, I’ll keep buying and working [hopefully]. I’ll keep you updated on any progress & purchases with that project.

From my family to yours, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.

Until next time,

We Are The Marshall’s

Walkway in 5 Hours

Posted on Updated on

For real! We completely “up-scaled” our walkway to our front porch in five hours. Now mind you, this was over a course of two days because we had to make four, yes four, trips to The Home Depot to get supplies and replace our tools that kept breaking. So, for those of you who do not know the San Andreas Fault comes directly through our front yard which caused our previous walkway to just crumble.

[Note: San Andreas Fault = Blackland] It was time for an update.

How We Did It:

We dug up the old broken pavers, cleaned out the rocks and dug a level bed for the new sand and pavers to be laid.

The bad was so bad I am too embarrassed to show a before and after, you can improvise. 🙂
